A Shroud of Darkness- Episode 2

Almost as soon as Prof. Nightmare glanced at the mutilated beast through the vegetation, it sensed him, and, as most animals tend to do, (possessed or not) attacked him.It slithered towards him with a twisted… smile? He couldn’t really tell, and frankly, didn’t care, as he tore through the mud-filled swamp. He finally paused when he thought “Twisted Croc” couldn’t sense him anymore. Then, as it leapt out of a ditch, it, for some reason, stopped, and ran away whimpering. As he turned around slowly, he saw a strange-looking dog staring at him. And the dog was wearing glasses…

By the way, Twisted Croc is the crocodile’s temporary nickname. Tell me if you like it, and if not, suggest one and I will edit it accordingly. Make sure it’s scary or creepy, and two words long, otherwise it won’t be the 100 Word Challenge anymore.

Victor, I suspect that Twisted Croc will be appearing more than once in your posts? I do like the name. I hope you continue this adventure.
This is great writing and as the reader, I am right there in the swamp feeling the tension of the situation with the Professor.
I do have a question for you though – do crocodiles indeed run, (if Twisted Croc is indeed a crocodile.) Perhaps they might scuttle or slither or scurry? What do you think?
    Thanks for sharing,

    Victor,
I’m very glad to see your story continue. You left us hanging again at the end, though. Let’s see if you can keep this story idea going.
    You only have 99 words.
